Argentina to export pork to Uruguay

Argentina will export chilled boneless pork to Uruguay for the first time. The market is currently affected by the floods in southern Brazil. This shipment will have an approximate value of USD 2500 per ton and opens a new destination with great potential for Argentina's products. In 2023 alone, Uruguay imported 49,000 tons of pork, 96% of which was supplied by Brazil. The negotiations between the Secretary of Bioeconomy and the Minister of Livestock, Agriculture, and Fisheries of Uruguay, and the Director of Swine Production, together with Uruguayan production representatives, allowed this new and nearby market to open and made it possible for Argentina to meet the high demand for pork by Uruguayan consumers.
