In October 2024, Argentina experienced an 11.4% increase in seafood exports compared to the same month in 2023, totaling USD 1,713 million over the first 10 months of the year, according to the CAPeCA Report. This growth is largely attributed to higher export volumes, with the exception of headless shrimp. The report highlights significant variations in the performance of different seafood species. Cod exports rose by 15.3% in volume and 13.9% in value, despite falling prices, with Brazil as the primary market. Whole shrimp exports increased by 19.7% in volume and 3.5% in average price, although they still failed to reach pre-2020 levels. Squid was the only species to see growth in both revenue and price, with a 8.7% increase in volume and a 13.3% increase in value, led by exports to China.
