Argentine wine exports have experienced a significant growth, with the value and volume increasing by over 20% year-on-year, reaching USD 844 million in 2021 so far. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Brazil are the primary markets. This growth is attributed to efforts by the private sector and the government, including reducing retentions for small and medium-sized enterprises and doubling refunds for total wine exports. Argentina, which has the most valuable agri-food export, is the fifth-largest wine producer in the world.
