Finally, China's Ministry of Commerce published this Wednesday the import quotas for beef that will come into effect starting January 1, 2026. For the year 2026, China assigned an annual quota to Brazil of 1,106 million tons, while for Argentina the volume is 511,000 tons and for Uruguay 324,000 tons. Meanwhile, New Zealand will be able to export 206,000 tons next year, while the quota assigned to Australia is 205,000 tons and to the U.S. 164,000 tons. Other countries of lesser relevance will have a joint quota of 172,000 tons, making a total of 2,688 million tons for the year 2026. For the year 2027, an import quota for beef was established at 2,742 million tons, while for 2028 it was set at 2,797 million tons.
