A team of developers from Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, and Venezuela has developed a hydroponic agriculture monitoring system, eGreens, which is a finalist in IBM's Call for Code contest. The system uses artificial intelligence, automation, and IBM Cloud services to monitor micro-vegetable trays, warn when vegetables are ready to harvest, and automate watering. The team is working on an offline option and planning pilot tests in Mexico and other areas. The system can be used for a variety of micro-vegetables and quick-harvest seeds.
