Harvesting of potatoes is actively underway in the regions. To date, 907 thousand tons have been collected. Prices in the fields range from 90 to 120 tenge per kilogram depending on the region. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, this year the sown areas in organized farms have been expanded by 11 thousand hectares, which will allow increasing the gross harvest to 2.7 million tons. This is significantly higher than the annual demand of the domestic market, which is about 2 million tons. "We forecast a good harvest. With such volumes, there are no threats to domestic supply. Therefore, all restrictions on the export of potatoes were lifted on July 28," informed Deputy Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Taszhurekov.
