Asaja has rated the aid approved by the Council of Ministers to compensate for the damages caused by the forest fires of last summer as insufficient, with a total amount of 27 million euros. From the professional agricultural organization (OPA) it has been pointed out that the announced aid is "clearly insufficient" and does not correspond to the magnitude of the losses suffered by the sector, which exceed 200 million euros. Although it acknowledges that "less is nothing," Asaja criticizes that the subsidies of between 1,500 and 10,000 euros for damages to the farms—and 6,000 to 16,000 euros for those with agricultural insurance— "do not come close to covering the basic needs of the affected farmers and livestock breeders."
