Asici, the interprofessional organization for Iberian pigs, has offered a series of biosecurity recommendations to livestock farmers and meat industries with their own livestock to prevent the entry and spread of the ASF virus in these types of farming operations. These include: In the case of animals in montanera, good management practices, reinforcement of physical barriers, and daily surveillance are essential to reduce the risk of ASF contagion in an open environment, where the likelihood of interaction with wild fauna is higher.
