Assessment of the meat and dairy industry in Ukraine

Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the problems of the food market, which have been brewing for several decades, have intensified. The war led both to a change in the fullness of the food basket and to a drop in production volumes. The market and prospects of the meat and dairy industry were objectively assessed by Ivan Mykolayovych Stefanyshyn, adviser to the director of the agro-industrial complex of the wholesale market of agricultural products "Shuvar" in Lviv. In Ukraine, the livestock sector in the structure of production occupies only 23%, while in Poland - 41%, Germany - about 80%. The country's dairy industry is the most problematic in the agro-industrial complex, says Ivan Mykolayovych.
