The Korea Rice Professional Farmers Association, led by Chairman Lee Gyeong-jae, has strategized to shift from rice cultivation to growing strategic crops as a response to the economic recession and falling rice prices. This decision was announced at a members' meeting, where around 400 rice farmers from Gyeonggi Province expressed their participation and support. The association plans to reduce rice cultivation, convert strategic crops to rice paddies, and engage in the cultivation of other crops such as legumes, edible corn, and summer forage. Additionally, they aim to stabilize rice supply and demand by promoting the powdered rice industry.
