Favorable weather and high yields will ensure record production and export of grain crops in the 2025/26 MY. According to the FAS USDA forecast, in the new season Australia will harvest record wheat and barley yields. Thus, the barley production forecast has been increased compared to previous estimates released three months ago by 2 million tons to 15 million tons, which is 27% higher than the 10-year average (11.8 million tons) due to better-than-expected weather conditions in most growing regions and high yield rates in Queensland and New South Wales, where harvesting has already begun. It should be noted that Australia is the world's largest barley exporter and is among the top 3 barley producers.
