Australia in January increased wheat exports by more than 20% in a month

In January, Australia experienced a notable increase in wheat exports, with a 25% rise from the previous month and a 26% increase compared to the same period last year, reaching a total of 3.3 million tonnes. This surge has contributed to an overall growth of 25% in wheat exports since the start of the 2022/23 marketing year, with the total export volume standing at 9.8 million tons. Conversely, canola exports saw a decline, dropping by 6% from December to 715.1 thousand tons, although there was a positive annual growth rate of 42% since the season's inception. This demonstrates a strong performance in wheat exports countered by a slight hiccup in canola exports in Australia's agricultural sector.
