In October, Australia saw a significant increase in its agricultural exports, with beef, lamb, mutton, and goatmeat all experiencing notable growth. Beef exports jumped by 24% to a record 130,049 tonnes, with the United States being the largest market and Indonesia seeing the biggest increase. Chilled beef exports to the US hit an all-time high. Lamb exports, however, saw a 13% decrease, largely due to a drop in exports to China, although the US remained the second-largest market. Mutton exports surged by 35% to the highest monthly figure since 1994, with China and Malaysia showing the most significant increases. Goatmeat exports soared by 48% to a single month record high, with the United States as the primary market. These trends indicate a strong possibility that 2024 could break record levels for Australian agricultural exports in multiple categories.
