In October, Australia saw a 14% increase in wheat exports, exporting a total of 2,042,497 tonnes, as per the Australian Bureau of Statistics. This marks the beginning of the Australian marketing year and involves the introduction of new-crop wheat in regions like Geraldton in Western Australia, and Gladstone and Mackay in Queensland. Indonesia was the top buyer of Australian bulk wheat with 438,282 tonnes, followed by China with 419,204 tonnes. South Korea and the Philippines rounded out the top three bulk buyers. Vietnam, Taiwan, and Thailand were the leading markets for containerised exports.
