Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, the Menteri Besar of Seremban, has issued a public warning against the consumption of mussels, clams, and other bivalves from Port Dickson following a resurgence of food poisoning incidents linked to these shellfish. This cautionary advice comes after the discovery of harmful algae contamination in the mussels, prompting the state Department of Fisheries (DOF) to undertake water and bivalve analyses in the affected area. The state government is currently awaiting a comprehensive report from the DOF, which will include the impact on local farmers, to determine the next steps in addressing this public health concern.
