Awareness study on fisheries in Turkiye

Manisa Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry has made informative signs for citizens and amateur fishermen in order to ensure sustainable fishing and to protect inland waters’ aquatic products and habitats. 25 signs made as part of the awareness campaign were sent to districts in Manisa where hunting is intensive. The signs included information on the following issues: fishing in inland waters is prohibited between March 1 and May 31, paying attention to minimum length and detainable quantities (Carp 40 cm-5 pieces, Catfish 90 cm-1 piece, Freshwater Mullet 20 cm-kg), an amateur fisherman should have a maximum of 4 fishing rods and the number of hooks per rod should not exceed 3.
