The Georgian Walnut and Almond Growers Association has conducted a survey predicting a significant increase in the harvest of whole almonds and walnuts for the year 2023. The country, which currently relies on imports for these nuts, is planning to establish its own processing factories and develop an export market, particularly for almonds to the Persian Gulf countries. The industry has seen growth and interest, with international investment and the expectation of the first commercial harvest this year. The association is also focusing on improving agronomic knowledge and planning to bring in American and Spanish agronomists for training.
