Azerbaijan began exporting olive oil to Spain

In 2023, Azerbaijan began exporting unrefined extra virgin olive oil to Spain. As the Interfax-Azerbaijan agency learned from informed sources, deliveries were made in November 2023, when Azerbaijan exported 110 tons of this product to Spain for approximately 0.6 million euros. Over the last decade, a number of programs have been implemented in Azerbaijan aimed at increasing the area under olives and processing capacity. In 2022, the largest plant in the region for the production of olive oil and canned olives opened in the Khazar district of Baku. The Azerbaijani company Absheron Zeytun Baglari LLC implemented this project in collaboration with specialists from Spain, Israel, Italy, Portugal and Turkey.
