Azerbaijan entered the top three importers of hazelnuts in Germany

In the first quarter of 2023, Azerbaijan emerged as one of the leading importers of hazelnuts to Germany, with a significant increase in imports compared to the same period last year. Import volumes rose by 2.9 times to 1,928 tons, and value increased by 2.7 times to 10,405 million euros. This growth places Azerbaijan third among hazelnut importers in Germany, following Turkey and Italy, which led with 12,637 tons and 2,909 tons imported, respectively. Overall, Germany experienced a 7.9% increase in hazelnut imports in volume and a 21.1% increase in value compared to the previous year.
