Azerbaijan's poultry industry is gearing up for expansion, with plans to extend poultry operations and start exporting broiler meat to the Middle East and Russia, as stated by Myurvyat Hasanli of the Azerbaijan Poultry Association. This expansion involves constructing new facilities and upgrading existing ones, though finding suitable land poses a challenge. The country has initiated egg exports to Russia, benefiting from duty-free import policies, and has shipped about 60 million eggs. Despite a minor drop in poultry meat production in the first three quarters of 2023, there's been a notable rise in egg production. The Azerbaijani government is backing this growth with subsidies for equipment purchases and farm modernizations, aiming to satisfy local demand and tap into export markets.
