Bac Lieu province in Vietnam ranks third in the country in shrimp exports, with a total export value of US$631.50 million in the first 9 months of 2022, an increase of 9.88% from the previous period. The province, known for its large shrimp production, has the potential to export more but is currently only using a fraction of its shrimp production for processing. The province is also investing in high-tech agricultural solutions, with domestic and foreign enterprises investing in aquaculture, seed production, fisheries logistics, and processing. The province has 45 seafood processing factories, all granted certificates to ensure food safety for export, and is implementing a super-intensive shrimp farming model that has a high success rate and is more stable than intensive and semi-intensive farming. The province is also looking for breakthrough solutions in high-tech agricultural development, with modern production lines and technology meeting food quality and safety standards.
