As the State Statistical Office reports, this was 6.2% (7,899 tons) more than in the previous year, thus stopping the decline that has been ongoing since 2017. Of the total 391,260 cattle slaughtered, the majority of slaughtered animals were bulls (39.5%), cows (31.4%) and heifers (24.9%). The main contributor to the increase in beef production was the increase in bull (+9.1%) and heifer slaughter (+7.1%) compared to the previous year. The number of cows slaughtered (-1.3%), however, fell slightly. With a slaughter quantity of only 316,758t, pork production was 7.5% (25,603t) below the previous year's level.
