The National Supply Company (Conab) reinforced this week the supply of corn for small breeders in Bahia. According to Conab, the unit in Itaberaba received about 78 thousand kilos and the one in Ribeira do Pombal, more than 51 thousand kilos. The volumes are part of a shipment of over 5 thousand tons planned for the state, with 2 thousand destined for Irecê, approximately 1,500 for Itaberaba, and about 1,700 for Ribeira do Pombal. Deliveries are expected to continue in the coming days until the programmed quantity for the units is completed. The corn is sold through the Over-the-Counter Sales Program (ProVB), which allows small breeders to buy the grain directly. According to Conab, "the monthly purchase limit is up to 27 tons per customer, respecting the consumption proportional to the herd registered in the National Registration System of Rural Producers and Other Agents (Sican)."
