Thailand: Bangkok Fisheries eradicates black-chinned tilapia in Bang Khun Thian district, joins hands with CPF to release predatory fish

The Bangkok Fisheries Office revealed that the measures to manage the black-chinned tilapia that have been implemented since the beginning of the year have yielded results. The black-chinned tilapia in the area have been caught out of natural water sources and aquaculture ponds by 421 tons. The large black-chinned tilapia in the water sources have disappeared. The office is also moving forward with the integration of the network to manage the black-chinned tilapia intensively, along with creating participation from farmers and communities to restore the biodiversity of the water sources.
