Brazil: Barley in Rio Grande do Sul shows smallest drop among winter grains

The harvest of the barley crop in Rio Grande do Sul has been completed, with the cultivated area reaching 34,398 hectares, according to the Emater/RS Economic Bulletin. However, the final productivity estimate fell short of initial projections, registering a reduction of 6.62% compared to expectations, with a total production of 110,219 tons and an average yield of 3,204 kg per hectare. Despite the drop in productivity, barley was the winter crop that showed the smallest reduction among the grains cultivated in the state.
