The USDA December report has revised Bulgaria's agricultural balances, showing an increase in wheat areas and barley production. The wheat area has expanded by 3 Kha to 1193 Kha, with a harvest of 7MMt, while barley production has been raised to 1.1Mt, marking the largest harvest since 2020. Corn estimates remain unchanged at 1.7Mmt, but a downward adjustment of 0.2-0.3 Mmt is anticipated. There's been a significant reduction in the sunflower crop estimate from 1.7Mmt to 1.5Mmt, with a possibility of farmers shifting to oilseed crops from corn in the spring.
