In 2023, the export of plums, cherries, apricots, and peaches from Moldova increased by 82% compared to the previous year, totaling 1.446 million lei, or more than $81 million, with the EU accounting for 61% of exports. Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba stated that the growth is a result of the work of farmers and the government's efforts to support them by diversifying export markets and improving trade agreements. The European Parliament decided to extend the suspension of taxes and import quotas on Moldovan products for another year, further supporting the country's export growth.
