The National Zakat Agency (Baznas) in Indonesia is aiming to raise IDR 13 trillion from Qurbani collections this year, a 30% increase from the previous year's total of IDR 10.5 trillion. The collected Qurbani animals are then managed and distributed as living animals and processed products. Baznas particularly focuses on distributing processed meat products to disadvantaged, remote, and outlying areas to address nutritional needs and prevent stunting. In 2022, Indonesia had a Qurbani economic potential of IDR 31.6 trillion, and Baznas is working towards establishing a sustainable Qurbani economic ecosystem to combat poverty through its Livestock Center program, which aims to empower breeders to become alms beneficiaries and contribute to the supply of Qurbani livestock.
