BB/Bittencourt: our expectation is to keep the agribusiness portfolio close to R$ 400 billion

By Altamiro Silva Junior, André Marinho, and Marianna Gualter São Paulo and Brasília, 11/13/2025 - Amidst the process of debt renegotiations in the pressured agribusiness sector, Banco do Brasil is expected to maintain its credit portfolio in the sector in the region of R$ 400 billion going forward, stated the vice-president of Agribusiness and Family Agriculture of BB, Gilson Bittencourt, in a teleconference with analysts. Bittencourt explained that the drop in new contracts should be partially offset by operations under the scope of Provisional Measure 1314, which allocates credit to the sector. The MP provides for the release of R$ 12 billion for this line, of which R$ 4.3 billion are directed to BB. In addition to this volume, the bank is also mobilizing R$ 24 billion in free resources for renegotiations with rural producers.
