Beans face challenges of quality and presentation

This year's bean crop has faced significant difficulties, primarily concerning the quality of the beans. According to the Brazilian Institute of Beans and Pulses (Ibrafe), a buyer reported that a large portion of the available product presents defects such as small beans, presence of straw and dust, often requiring the beans to go through a machine to try to correct or at least reduce these problems. Despite these challenges, some of the beans are packaged even with these conditions, seeking to meet the reality of the retail market, which needs competitive prices to attract consumers. Another point of concern highlighted is the low moisture content of the beans, which compromises the uniformity of the filling of the packages and impairs the visual presentation of the product on the shelves.
