Argentina: Beef exports recorded a new jump in July 2023, slightly exceeding last May's peak

The average value per tn pp exported was 4,127 dollars (-28.6% annually). This difference between June and July was caused by the difficulty of the companies to obtain the necessary dollars to pay the freight, which caused losses to the national companies. When measured in tons of bone-in beef (tn r/c/h), the total volume was equivalent to 92.2 thousand tons in July of the current year (+7.7% annual). And the average price was $2,947 per ton r/c/h (-27.0% annually). Sales to China totaled 48.7 thousand tons pp in July of this year and represented 74.1% of the total exported. In relation to June, they increased 21.9% and explained 55.4% of the increase in exported volume. Meanwhile, shipments to Israel and the US, second and fourth most important destinations, were much more dynamic on this occasion.
