The inclusion of bee honey within the scope of the Food Act causes serious concern among the beekeeping community. According to farmers, this decision is inappropriate and may lead to a number of problems for the sector. Read more: There is money, but it does not reach the beekeepers. Why? Bee honey is not inherently an animal food product. Therefore, placing it in the draft Regulation on direct supplies of small quantities of primary products and animal food is perceived as a gross error. The draft document is open for public consultation under Article 26, Paragraph 1 of the LNA and has not yet been uploaded for public discussion. However, according to beekeepers, it does not take into account the specifics of the product and creates unnecessary administrative burdens that will affect mainly small and medium-sized farms.
