Experts from the state institute are preparing an analysis of the import and export balance of sugar products. The goal is to limit the influx of such products and – thus – improve the situation of the Polish sector, led by beet growers.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Małgorzata Gromadzka informed on her Facebook profile about a meeting with representatives of the Lublin Agricultural Association. "We talked about the very difficult situation of sugar beet growers - the profitability of crops is falling, and farmers are facing increasing challenges. A big problem is also the growing import of processed sugar products (including confectionery), which weakens the position of our producers and affects the profitability of Polish raw materials," said the Deputy Minister. As she added, at her initiative, the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Food Economy is preparing an in-depth analysis of the import and export balance.
