Belgium improves the sharing of slaughter data with producers

The Interprofessional Association of Belgian Meat (IVB) is taking a significant step to improve communication and data sharing in the sector. Designated by the Flemish Government, the IVB plays a central role in the collection, dissemination, and standardization of slaughter data in the beef and pork production sectors. The provision of slaughter data collected at slaughterhouses has been carried out for years for all Belgian pork and beef producers through the IVB website. An automatic email message can also be provided to producers who register with the IVB for this purpose. Since November 13, 2025, these emails have been sent to all animal producers for whom the IVB has an email address. Together, this contact information ensures that 95% of active Belgian pig farmers will automatically receive an email with the slaughter results of their animals.
