BioDiversity Grow, a new certification program, has been launched to promote sustainable production and packaging of fruits and vegetables. Managed by SGS IBÉRICA, S.A. and developed by Quality & Adviser, S.L. in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the program aims to support companies in adopting sustainable practices in line with the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The program covers various aspects, including health and well-being, water and sanitation, climate action, and terrestrial ecosystem life. Adopted by companies like AMC, Albenfruit, and Sat Cítricos Valencianos, the program has shown promising results in reducing environmental impact, such as a 40% decrease in glyphosate application and a 100% reduction in herbicide treatments. It also aims to improve social and circularity aspects, offering a certification seal with three levels of certification and focusing on the post-harvest phase.
