One of the main issues when it comes to climate change is how to reduce CO² emissions. This challenge begins with how to quantify this mitigation and continues with discussions on how to capture, reuse, and even recycle this carbon. Public policies that recognize agriculture as an essential engine in this process, exploring new markets as opportunities for agriculture to generate, beyond food, bioproducts, and the ability to do so based on science and technology were pathways pointed out. The suggestions were presented and debated by the general manager of Embrapa Agroenergy, Alexandre Alonso, in the AgriZone program at COP 30. The panel "Environmental Sustainability and Carbon Accounting" was promoted by the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA), in the AgroBrasil space, on November 19.
