Bird flu antigen detected at a poultry farm in Naju Jongori... Intensification of prevention measures

(Naju=Yonhap News) Reporter Hyeong Min-woo = Highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) antigens have been detected consecutively at a duck farm in Naju, Jeonnam. According to Jeonnam Province on the 24th, the H5 type AI antigen was detected at a breeder duck farm in Donggang-myeon, Naju City, and quarantine measures have been implemented. The farm is currently raising 6,000 breeder ducks, and recent detailed tests conducted by the Jeonnam Animal Hygiene Testing Institute confirmed the presence of H5 type avian influenza. The Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency is currently testing for high pathogenicity. Jeonnam Province has deployed an initial response team to control access and disinfect the affected farm, and has set up a quarantine zone (10km) and imposed movement restrictions.
