Wholesale prices for blackberries in Moldova have dropped by 5-7 lei / kg due to a delayed sales season caused by cool and rainy weather. The season, which started later than usual, is expected to be short and end on time in late August. Despite price fluctuations and instability in supply, small farmers are hopeful that prices will not significantly decrease by the end of the season. The season is further supported by increased exports to the Russian market, offers from frozen berry producers, and a good season overall compared to the previous year.
