Mass deaths of blue lobsters and sea fish have been reported in Xuan Thinh Commune, Phu Yen province, Vietnam, with over 25 tons of lobsters from 95 farming households lost. The cause is believed to be hot weather and thunderstorms. The local People's Committee has requested reports on the extent of losses, urged farmers to harvest quickly and follow disease prevention measures. They have also advised against leaving aquatic carcasses in farming areas and to inspect farming areas for environmental incidents and diseases. A livestock and veterinary station has been assigned to inspect the dead lobsters and farmed fish to determine the cause of death.
