Peru has emerged as the leading global exporter of blueberries, having produced 162,459 tons during the last campaign, with major contributions from regions such as La libertad, Lambayeque, Lima Ica, Áncash, Piura and Moquegua. The country has successfully exported 62,724 tons to 31 markets, including recent approvals for the Japanese markets of Malaysia and India. The Indian government publication, La Gaceta, has published the necessary phytosanitary requirements for importing Peruvian blueberries, opening up a significant market for Peruvian farmers. Additionally, Peru is also authorized to export mandarins, oranges, lemons, and grapefruits to India.
