The Colombian blueberry industry is witnessing exceptional growth with the expansion of cultivation areas in Antioquia, Cauca, the Coffee Region, and Nariño, potentially reaching between 3,000 and 5,000 hectares by 2026, a 669.23% increase from the current 650 hectares. This growth is fueled by the country's climate, which enables year-round production, positioning Colombia as a significant player in the global market. With a total export of 628,235 kg of blueberries in 2024, valued at US$3.3 million, there are expectations for substantial growth in exports due to increased cultivation and the quality of the product. Colombia's ability to supply blueberries throughout the year provides a strategic advantage, allowing it to distinguish itself from other producers like Chile, Mexico, and Peru.
