South African blueberry exports have seen a slight increase compared to the previous season, with shipments to traditional European markets experiencing a 16% decline, but a 26% increase in shipments to the UK offsetting the loss. There has also been a significant 27% increase in exports to the Far East and South East Asia. In total, the country has exported 20,348 tonnes so far, peaking in week 44 but seeing a significant decrease in shipments since then. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe's blueberry industry is also growing, with expectations to announce a final harvest of 5,500 tonnes for the year, a fraction of South Africa's volumes but poised for rapid growth.
