Brazil is the world's largest food producer and exports 7.2% of its agricultural production, with agribusiness contributing significantly to the trade balance. The country's exports were led by soy, corn, cellulose, chicken meat, beef, and soybean meal in 2019, generating US $ 59 billion. Despite the pandemic, agribusiness exports increased by 9% in the first half of 2020, reaching US $ 71 billion. The Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA) is actively working to increase exports, particularly by training small and medium producers through the AgroBrasil program. CNA has identified six priority chains with potential for growth: aquaculture and fisheries, flowers, fruits and vegetables, specialty coffees, dairy products, and honey. Santa Catarina, Brazil, is also highlighted for its potential in exporting dairy, mariculture, honey, and fruit.
