Brazil has approved a protocol with China, enabling the country to export processed protein from terrestrial animals such as poultry and pork for the first time. This agreement, signed between Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) and China's General Administration of Customs (GACC), complies with China's sanitary and quarantine standards. Brazilian firms exporting these products to China must adopt a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) quality management system and maintain effective traceability. The animals for these products must be reared in areas free from specific diseases and slaughtered in approved facilities, ensuring a higher standard of safety and quality for the Chinese market. This development underscores Brazil's position as a significant exporter of terrestrial animal proteins, providing access to a key market in China.
