The Brazilian government is celebrating the authorization by Colombia for the export of dried distillers grains (DDG/DDGS), a byproduct of ethanol production, to the South American country. This marks the 105th market opening for Brazilian agribusiness in 2024 and brings the total to 183 openings in 58 destinations since 2023. Dried distillers grains are a crucial source of protein and energy for various types of livestock and aquaculture. This market expansion is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), reflecting Brazil's increasing export opportunities and global influence in the agricultural sector.
