In Santa Catarina, the production cost per kilogram of live pig was R$ 6.28 in August, a rise of 0.61% compared to the previous month, with the ICPSuíno reaching 359.10 points. In the accumulated total for 2025, the index also registers an increase (1.13%). Over 12 months, the variation is 6.27%. Feed, responsible for 70.58% of the total production cost in closed-cycle farms, increased by 0.36% in the month. Santa Catarina is a state of reference in the calculations of the Production Cost Indices (ICPs) of the CIAS, due to its relevance as the largest national producer of pigs. The CIAS also provides cost estimates for the states of GO, MG, MT, and RS, offering important subsidies for the technical and economic management of pig and broiler production systems.
