Brazil could export almost 3 million tons of beef and 1.5 million tons of pork in 2024 according to the USDA

The US Department of Agriculture has just published its forecast report on the evolution of the production, consumption and trade of beef and pork in Brazil for 2024. This country is the second largest producer of beef by world level and the largest exporter, covering a quarter of the trade in this meat. USDA forecasts indicate that this country will see its production increase by 4% to reach 11.37 million tons. Domestic demand will also rise and reach 9.4 million tons due to a greater supply of meat and better prices for consumers. Regarding exports, the USDA predicts that in 2024 they will reach a record of 2.95 million tons, 2% more than in 2023. This forecast takes into account the increase in beef production, the strong external demand and the challenges faced by foreign competitors.
