In 2021, Brazil's fruit exports reached a record high in both quantity and revenue, with over 1.2 million tons exported and revenue exceeding €1.2 billion, marking a 20.3% increase from the previous year. The main fruits exported were mangoes, melons, grapes, nuts, chestnuts, lemon, and limes. The European Union was the primary recipient, accounting for 48% of these exports. However, fruit exports have seen a decrease in the first nine months of 2022 by 16.7% in volume and 16.1% in revenue due to factors such as protests by federal tax inspectors, economic embargoes, increased fertilizer prices, logistical constraints, and exchange rate volatility.
