Brazil exports 199 thousand tons of rice in July

(By Abiarroz) Exports of rice (husk base) totaled 199,000 tons in July, informs the Brazilian Rice Industry Association (Abiarroz), based on figures from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (Mdic). The volume represents an increase of almost 10% compared to the 182 thousand tons shipped in the same month of 2022. Foreign sales in July reached US$ 68 million, up 15% compared to revenues of US$ 59 million recorded in the same month last year. Processed rice shipments, including broken rice, totaled 103 thousand tons in July, equivalent to US$ 33 million. Last month, the main destinations for processed grain, with higher added value, were Cuba, the Netherlands, Peru, the United States, Cape Verde, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, Saudi Arabia and São Tomé and Príncipe.
