The Brazilian government has announced the opening of two new international markets for its agricultural products. Gabon has authorized the export of cattle and buffaloes for breeding, while Chile has allowed the import of edible offal from birds, ruminants, and pigs. This takes the number of new markets opened by Brazil in 2024 to 75, with a total of 153 new markets in 53 countries since 2023. In 2023, Gabon imported over US$46 million worth of Brazilian agribusiness products, primarily meat. Meanwhile, agricultural exports from Brazil to Chile in the first five months of 2024 reached US$733 million, with the meat sector contributing 51% of this total.
